I Wish Stars

The Earth is round

and there is one corner

which is devoid of the light

and I am not happy about it

I wish to climb the ladder

which goes beyond the cirrus clouds

and the last stride is surrounded by a cluster of stars

I would want to collect some of the stars one by one

in my handwoven blue bag

I am sure, the bountiful sky wouldn’t mind

If I bring some of its stars down

Then, I would pull out them one by one

from the bag and decorate every street on that corner

I would want to soak my soul in the joy of illumination

Thereafter, again I wish to climb the ladder

which goes beyond the cirrus clouds

there I would occupy the permanent space

on the south pole of the moon, between two craters

then I would revive seamless conversations of my childhood

with the moon and stars

I remember, once I had handpicked some of the stars I liked the most

and appealed to them that I wish them in my life

they grinned and replied,

“My dear, We can’t fall in your life, you come over and join us.”
